On April 20, 2011, Counterspill launched a global intervention to reduce our dependence on non-renewable energy. The world has come a long way from the industrial revolution, yet our addiction to unsustainable power sources has only gotten worse.
This intervention is not just about Counterspill's efforts to chronicle big-energy spills or solely to counter the industry spin that make these stories disappear with the nightly news. It is about you. It's about thinkers, about artists, about communities, about our partners, about our friends and families. That's why we need your help to tell the story of our addiction to non-renewable energy -- and how we can change course.
In the coming months and years, we'll be collecting the best in citizen journalism; we'll be curating professional reporting and research; we'll be encouraging art, video, and expression in all its forms to help turn the tide on this great challenge of our generation. Join us!
For now, with our launch on the first anniversary of the BP Oil Spill -- one of the worst non-renewable energy disasters our planet has experienced -- please take a moment to explore our platform and share it with your friends.
